What changed this year

The log

An NSE page that still shows the old day

NSE’s general Market Timings page, read on 2026-10-12, still listed these rows for equities:

Rows as shown on that page on 2026-10-12.

Trading sessionTime
Pre-open session (Regular) Close09:08 hrs
Normal / Odd lot market Close15:30 hrs
Closing session Open15:40 hrs
Closing session Close16:00 hrs

In plain words

The 09:08 pre-open close is the time in the “Current Time” column of NSE’s pre-open FAQ table, which the FAQ revises from 7 September 2026, and the 15:40–16:00 closing session does not appear in the closing auction page’s schedule, which ends the day with a post-close session from 3:50 to 4:00 pm. NSE’s FAQ states that where it differs from the circulars, the circulars are final; this site follows the circulars and the FAQ and product page that match them.
